Cumberland County Solid Waste and Sustainable Sandhills will partner to hold an Electronic Waste (E-Waste) Drive and Paper Shredding event on Saturday, March 28, from 8 to 11:30 a.m. at the Ann Street Landfill, located at 698 Ann St., Fayetteville. The Storytelling Festival promotes literacy, encourages inclusion and sparks creativity for all community members. Fayetteville, N.C.- At the February 25, 2026, Fayetteville Public Works Commission (PWC) meeting, a public hearing was held regarding adjusting electric rates and PWC fees. Following public comment, the Board voted to adopt new rates and fees over a two-year period. The updated rates will apply to bills sent on or after May 1, 2026, while adjusted fees will be effective immediately. This temporary, month-long change is an annual requirement by the North Carolina Department of Environmental Quality (NCDEQ) for all public water systems that normally use chloramines for disinfection. Cumberland County Solid Waste Management will host a Cumberland Clean litter pick-up event on Saturday, March 7, at 9 a.m. at 575 Assembly Court in Fayetteville. Groups and people of all ages are invited to help clean up litter at the site. Solid Waste staff will collect and dispose of all trash bags filled by volunteers.
