The Heart Behind A Mother’s Touch
A Mother’s Touch was born from a place of love, determination, and the deep desire to make things better—not just for my child, but for every child who needs a little extra care. As a mother to a beautiful daughter with Level 3 Autism, I know the fear, frustration, and heartbreak that can come from trying to find a safe, understanding place for your child. When I couldn’t find it, I created it. What started as a small in-home childcare on Fort Bragg quickly
became my life’s work—a mission to create spaces where children of all abilities are not only welcomed, but celebrated. With an Ed.S in Early Childhood Education and years of experience across federal, state, corporate, and tech sectors in early childhood, I’ve taken everything I’ve learned and poured it into A Mother’s Touch. I wanted to build something that felt like more than just a program—I wanted it to feel like family.
That dream continues through AMT PlaySpace. It’s a bright, joyful place where children come to play, learn, and grow. We offer a morning
preschool program from 9 AM to 1 PM, Monday through Friday. But our vision doesn’t stop there. We're working to expand our services in
the afternoons to include ABA therapy and other supports for children with cognitive disabilities—just like my daughter. Because every child
deserves a space where they’re understood and loved for exactly who they are. A Mother’s Touch isn’t just our name—it’s our promise.
Starr Mastrodanato, M.Ed., is the operational powerhouse every visionary dreams of having in their corner. After 17 years as a forward-thinking DoD educator and senior executive—where she juggled classrooms, multimillion-dollar subsidy programs, and global teams without breaking a sweat—Starr now parachutes into growing organizations as a fractional COO and Chief of Staff. Her superpower? Turning “We have a big idea!” into slick systems, crystal-clear dashboards, and teams that hum like well-tuned engines, all while keeping the humans (not just the spreadsheets) front and center. Whether she’s mapping out KPIs on Monday or cheering on a preschool dance party by Friday, Starr brings lightning-bolt energy, people-first leadership, and a proven playbook that scale dreams into everyday reality.
